The Bancor Group, Inc is a residential real estate development company in the Twin Cities founded in 1993. Bancor has participated in the creation of over 2,500 lots. Their communities have received numerous awards for their approach to conservation and the firm is considered one of the leaders in their market in conservation development. Consequently, the principals of Bancor have been asked to speak at conferences in the Upper Midwest on low impact development.
David is a retired lawyer. While in private law, he served as a City Attorney for two cities as well as representing builders, developers and engineering firms. David also served eight years on a suburban school board and three years chairing a local Planning Commission. Because of this background, Bancor approaches the entitlement and regulatory process with an emphasis on collaboration.
David is a member of the Board of Directors of Tradition Capital Bank which has three offices in the Twin Cities and one in Scottsdale, AZ. He also serves as the Chair of the Board’s Governance and Human Resources Committee.
David has been a Rotarian for nearly 40 years. Since 2008 he has been involved in an effort by over 50 Rotary Clubs to develop a model for sustainable economic development in Nicaragua. This work has led David to make over a dozen trips to Nicaragua since then. He is a recipient of Rotary International’s Service Above Self award, Rotary’s highest award for volunteerism.
